Surf / Sea State: Big chop and some waves

Good forecast but wind didn't turn up. Rigged 6m but not enough wind in shore break so tried 7.3m which was OK. Sea was very choppy but some nice waves in places; did not want power or would have taken off all the time. Surprised myself with some nice turns off waves, but gear was bigger than the sea and felt lucky not to get flattened by breaking waves over sandbanks. First boots of the winter, ribs held up OK, but split a sail panel somehow; guess cambered sails don't like lieiing on rough water. Was coming in anyway as wind dropped and after lay-off was tired quickly. Sailed less than an hour :-(, but at least I did unlike Swainey who wisely didn't try the shore dump and wind shadow. Four others made it out.
